De-Stash Gems. Literally.
April 15, 2009
My favorite thing about Etsy, aside from the obviously talented artists who produce beautiful, eclectic creations, is the trend in said artists “de-stashing”. Leftover supplies can really clutter a person’s work space.
Check out Etsy sellers’ collective supply of wonderful leftovers by going to Etsy.com and using the search term “destash“, or “de-stash”.
By clicking on the product categories on the left, you can refine your search to solely beads, silver findings, paper cut outs, etc. Sometimes whole finished products are tagged as “destash” as a form of clearance sales. (Note: try searching “clearance” too!) You can find everything from store-bought leftovers like fabric scraps to beautiful hand-made items like gorgeous intricate glass beads. But it’s not all sewing and beads. There’s something for everyone.
And don’t be afraid to contact the seller to negotiate a lower price or trade for your own creations. Great finds can be lovely and cheap!
